The figures at the top of this card are rounded to the nearest dollar; the calculation above is exact. mynzhome's $10,000 is a flat fee with GST and the marketing package included — there is no percentage and no admin fee on top. The agency figures are commonly used rate-card rates in New Zealand real estate. Rate cards vary between agencies — check the fee schedule in your own agency agreement.
What are you paying PER HOUR?
Selling a house takes a certain number of hours. Divide the fee by them.
That's an estimate — prep, appraisal, listing admin, open home follow-ups, vendor reporting, general admin. Drag it to whatever you think is realistic.
| Agency A | mynzhome |
|---|---|
| $952.58 | $333.33 |
| $28,577.50 ÷ 30 hours | $10,000 ÷ 30 hours |
That's 2.9× the hourly rate, for the same hours' work.
What this figure is — and isn't
This is not what the salesperson personally receives. Their commission is split with the agency they work for, and the agency pays its overheads out of its share — offices, marketing, administration, franchise fees. Nobody takes this home. What it does show is the thing you are actually deciding on: for the hours someone spends working on your listing, this is the rate you are paying for the service. The hour count is an estimate and every sale is different — change it above and see what you get.
