The First Appointment with The Urologist

A Phone Call From A Surgeon

Peter Matthews
2024-03-20

The next evening I was surprised to receive a phone call from RF.

He is a surgeon who has his rooms in Grey Street, Hamilton. The ball had obviously been passed to him. He said there would need to be an FNA performed (Fine Needle Aspiration) in order to find out what’s up. He talked for ages and gave me the impression of being a very nice man who clearly goes the extra mile. I know this because it was nearly eight o’clock in the evening when he called me and he was on the phone for ten minutes. The upshot of that call was that he was going to make an appointment for the FNA.

Although I was a little taken aback to be on the receiving end of specialist attention in the form of RF, I was still able to pretend there was (probably) nothing wrong.

I have an appointment booked with the urologist GD on Friday. Perhaps he will be able to tell us what is going on.
