What does the $10,000 cover?
Everything needed to sell your house: professional photography, signage, listings on Trade Me and realestate.co.nz, the marketing package, and a licensed agent handling the sale from appraisal through to settlement. GST is included. There is no percentage and nothing added on top.
When do I pay?
$1,500 up front, which covers the marketing, and $8,500 when your house sells.
What if my house doesn't sell?
Then the $8,500 never falls due. You will have paid $1,500, and that isn't refundable — it has already been spent on photography, signage and the portal listings for your property.
Why is it so much less than a percentage commission?
Because a percentage isn't related to the work. A $1.2 million sale rarely takes twice the work of a $600,000 one, but on a percentage it costs twice as much. We charge for the job rather than for a share of your equity. Put your own sale price into our calculator and see the difference.
Will my house be on Trade Me and realestate.co.nz?
Yes — both, included in the fee. The same portals every other agency uses.
Who runs the open homes?
At the moment we do — although the mynzhome mnodel is that open homes are vendor-hosted. As we get busier they will all be vendor-hosted
Are you actually licensed?
Yes. Mynzhome Limited is a licensed real estate agency under the Real Estate Agents Act 2008, licence number 20202192. The same legal obligations, and the same protections for you, as any other agency.
What happens at the appraisal?
We look through the property, then prepare a Comparative Market Analysis which includes the recent sales the appraisal is based on and why each one is comparable to yours. It's free, there's no obligation, and you keep the CMA whether or not you list with us. Request one here.
How long am I committed for?
The agency agreement runs for 90 days as a sole agency, which is standard. In practice, if it isn't working for you we would rather release you than hold you to a date — so talk to us. The one thing that survives is a buyer we introduced during the agreement: if they buy your house afterwards, the fee is still payable.
Who handles the paperwork?
We draft the sale and purchase agreement. Once it has been accepted and signed it goes to the lawyers — yours and the purchaser's — who handle the conveyancing through to settlement.
What is AML and why do I need to know about it?
Before we can act for you we're required by law to verify your identity. That's a legal obligation on every agency, not a mynzhome policy. How the AML process works.
What if I have a complaint?
Tell us first and we'll try to put it right. If that doesn't resolve it you can take it to the Real Estate Authority — you don't need our agreement to do that, and going through our process doesn't stop you. Our complaints procedure.
What is the Owner Hub?
A private page for your property where you can see what's happening as it happens — viewings, feedback, offers, documents and progress through to settlement. More about the Owner Hub.
